The FENABRAVE announced that Car sales rose 4.79% in the first half of 2013 in Brazil. Between January and June, the total sales of cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses was 1978976 vehicles in Brazilian. Cars and light commercial vehicles sold a total of 1707814 vehicles, up 4.62% from a year earlier. Trucks sold a total of 74365 vehicles, up 6.43%; the bus sold a total of 16797 vehicles, up 13.35% from a year earlier.

The sales of cars was 318606 vehicles in June, growth of 0.76%, down 9.79% year-on-year.

Based on the good performance of car sales market in the first half of the year, Fenabrave forecast that the car sales will amount to 3.939 million vehicles in the full year of 2013 in Brazil.
